International Archaeology Day At Vann Cabin

  1. Kennesaw Archaeologists to begin work
    The “Engage Archaeology” class of Kennesaw State University has announced it will begin its work in Cave Spring March 6th. It will be under the direc- tion of the Archaeology Dept head, Dr. Teresa Raczek.
    The college class will meet here 9:30am to 3:30pm on Fridays. The first 2 weeks will be background
    lectures by Dr. Raczek. On Mar. 20 and 27 the class will tour the Vann Cherokee Cabin, C.S. Museum, Fairfield School, and meet with stakeholders of the town for project interviews by the college students.
    The five-part plan of the class will be:
    Preservation, Outreach, Education, Research (excavation included.)
