Pictures show lots (probably too many) of before and after the vast amount of debris in the rooms was removed. Charles Howell and his most able crew all local, worked like trojans to perform this clean out. A thankless task to move this 60 yards of garbage, we gratefully applaud the prompt and monumental efforts that accomplished this task in record time. The pre-planning was thorough and the task went smoothly. Onward and upward!
This project was funded by grants from SUNTRUST BANK AND THE HERITAGE FOUNDATION which could only be used in restoration efforts not in the purchase of the property WE AS THE HISTORICAL SOCIETY AND THE CITIZENS OF CAVE SPRING EXPRESS GRATITUDE BEYOND MEASURE FOR THIS ENABLING SUPPORT, AND FOR ALL THE MANY OTHER CONTRIBUTIONS, LARGE AND SMALL BY PEOPLE FROM ALL OVER SUPPORTING THESE EFFORTS. WHEN THIS PROJECT IS EVENTUALLY COMPLETE, YOU WILL ALL BE A PART OF HISTORY AS MUCH AS THE BUILDING WITH ITS OWN UNIQUE HISTORY AND "SPIRITS" OF THE PAST.
